Slate/The Last Unicorns of Jakarta
Selected cover
Spec sheet
A 70-second vertical mock nature documentary narrated by Agung Bezharie Hadinegoro, shot in the look of faded 16mm wildlife film. Unicorns stand in Sudirman's morning traffic, bask beside rooftop pools and gallop down empty toll roads while the capital stays warm. Most are born in Jakarta but registered in Singapore. Then the climate changes, and the money feeding the herd falls by more than ninety percent since the peak. Some are swallowed by larger animals; some leave the habitat entirely. In a warung in East Jakarta, something new is being born: smaller, eating less, and never having known warm capital. The next ones won't look like unicorns. That's how you'll know they survived.
